It is recommended that pacifiers or any other types of artificial nipples be avoided in initial months. Pacifier use reduces baby’s frequency or duration of feeds. Also can cause nipple confusion. If you want to try,it is best to wait until your baby is at least 4 weeks old to introduce a pacifier. This allows the baby to learn how to latch well on the breast and get enough milk. Once your baby is breastfeeding well, you can use a pacifier.
